• Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park is named for the first seven U.S. presidents who vacationed there. The park comprises 38 acres and offers an ocean beach, swimming, fishing, boating, volleyball plus a boardwalk.
• After Hurricane Sandy, Asbury Park was one of the few communities on the Jersey Shore to reopen successfully for the 2013 summer season.
• On July 31, 1869, Reverend W. B. Osborn, Reverend Stokes, and other Methodist ministers camped at a shaded, well-drained spot, on New Jersey's seashore. They decided to establish a permanent Christian camp meeting community there called “Ocean Grove.”
• In 1943, the New York Yankees held their spring training in Asbury Park instead of Florida.
