Description

So, You Think You Know Martha’s Vineyard? lays out a significant base of knowledge for each community on Martha’s Vineyard, including famous men and women who have made important contributions to each community.
The section, "Do You Know," brings forth some little-known facts that contribute to the distinctness of the Island. The photo section will test the reader's knowledge of buildings, views, and objects commonly seen but not necessarily recognized. There is a trivia chapter that will test the reader's knowledge about some well-known and lesser-known facts.

The book ends with the "Treasures" of Martha’s Vineyard. These are the institutions and places that make the Island a remarkable place to live and work. Some of the treasures are cultural, some are natural, and some are historical, but each contributes to the quality of life available on Martha’s Vineyard. The region and its people have something distinct and appealing to offer everyone.

So, You Think You Know Martha’s Vineyard? will educate, enrich, and entertain the reader.

Melissa K. Bigelow
Author Bio

Melissa Bigelow is a resident of Mashpee, MA. She is a native Cape Codder, born at Cape Cod Hospital and raised in Yarmouth. She worked in banking and finance for twelve years, ten of which were spent at a local mutual savings bank and the last two at a national financial services firm. She is currently the owner of Seagull Treasure Chest, an online antique book store. The business, which she operates out of her home in Mashpee, is in memory of her late father, Tom Hague’s, brick and mortar antique store of the same name, which he operated during the 1970s in West Harwich.

Her life’s greatest accomplishment is her thirteen-year old daughter, Sophia, a frequent high honors student who plays soccer for the Monomoy Regional School District.

A lifelong writer, Melissa’s dream as a child was to become an author. This is her third book and the sixth in a series published by Henry M. Quinlan, the owner and publisher of Omni Publishing Company.
