The first lockdown drill book designed for use in the classroom and home, Listen, Run, Hide gives adults the language needed to make a challenging conversation easy.
With input from top experts in school safety in the United States, this book teaches a version of the FBI’s protocol Run, Hide, Fight using the following age-adjusted principles:
1. Listen and follow the directions of the adults around you;
2. If a grownup is not around, run to a safer place; and
3. After running to the safest place possible, hide.
Join Willa and her parents as they role play the various things she can do at school (or elsewhere) to stay safe in an emergency - including the ones that are unusual because nothing is more important than her safety.

Katherine Schweit worked as an FBI Special Agent executive, a prosecutor, and a journalist before settling down as a full-time writer, professor, and security consultant. She lives in a home in Virginia that is too big for her, just west of Washington D.C.
