Description

Most leadership books focus on strategy, authority, and performance metrics. Connection Rethink argues they’re starting in the wrong place.

In his new book, Dr. Carey Chronis challenges the way we think about leadership. His premise is simple but transformative: the family is our first team — and the skills we practice at home shape the culture we create at work.

Rather than separating professional authority from personal life, Chronis argues that connection is a measurable, practical leadership skill. The skills that build trust, alignment, and culture at home are the same ones that determine whether teams thrive or fracture at work.

Carey Chronis
Author Bio

Who is Carey Chronis? Mix together a pediatrician, business owner, author, and public speaker, gently stir (please don’t shake), and you have Dr. Chronis.

For more than 25 years, Chronis has operated a private pediatric practice, leading teams, managing staff, and navigating the real-world demands of business ownership. Through thousands of patient interactions each year, he developed a clear framework grounded in one foundational truth: connection drives culture.

In his new leadership book, Connection Rethink: Team Culture from Home to Boardroom, Carey challenges conventional thinking about authority and performance, arguing that the family is our first and most demanding team and that the skills required to build trust, safety, and cooperation at home are the same ones that determine team culture at work and whether organizations thrive or fracture.

In his keynote presentations, Chronis explores the six pillars of team culture — safety, cooperation, trust, purpose, change, and resilience — offering leaders a practical roadmap for building cohesive, high-performing teams.

Chronis is also the author of Dr. Carey’s Baby Care: First Year Baby Care Guide, used by numerous First 5 California chapters and praised by readers for its clarity and accessibility.
