Over the next decade, he would attend the\nUniversity of California at Berkeley, serve as an officer in World War I, marry\na woman who came from a long line of trailblazing California women, and in 1920\nstart his own investment firm with several classmates: Mitchum, Tully \u0026amp; Co.\n\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“Honest George” was so humble that he did not need or want\nhis name on the door, but that would change in the early 1950s when his sons Dick\nand George Jr. became partners in the firm, and it became Mitchum, Jones \u0026amp;\nTempleton.
